About the Internship
Under the guidance of the Gender Monitoring & Evaluation Analyst, the intern will contribute to UNFPA’s GBVF Directorate by supporting administrative processes, managing data systems, coordinating with stakeholders, and assisting with events. This experience will deepen your understanding of the United Nations’ operations and the global development sector.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Information and Data Support:

Organize and maintain the GBVF Information Repository

Collect relevant reports from civil society, government departments, and research institutions

Support ad hoc data requests and repository updates
✅ Stakeholder Engagement:

Maintain a dynamic stakeholder database, including names, sectors, and contributions

Assist in verifying and updating database entries
✅ Meeting and Event Coordination:
-
Schedule and organize stakeholder meetings
-
Draft meeting agendas, take minutes, and track follow-up tasks

Provide logistical support for workshops and events
✅ Project Tracking and Research:

Research GBVF-related projects in South Africa

Attend virtual events and summarize key takeaways

Monitor and report on internal project progress
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet at least one of the following:
-
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and have completed at least one year
-
Enrolled in a postgraduate programme (e.g. Master’s)
-
Recently graduated (within the last year) and beginning the internship soon
-
Enrolled in a postgraduate professional training programme
Additional Skills and Requirements:

Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
