Old Mutual is on the hunt for a highly analytical and strategic Investment Analyst to join our Multi-Manager Investment Consulting team. This opportunity is based in Cape Town, where you’ll collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional investment advice and portfolio construction tailored to unique client needs.

🔍 What You’ll Be Doing

As an Investment Analyst, your core focus will include:

• Client Advisory: Partner with investment clients to create customised investment strategies, focusing on portfolio construction, asset allocation, and product selection.

• Portfolio Development: Use advanced internal tools and manager research to assist clients in building optimal portfolios.

• Investment Product Expertise: Provide expert guidance on both local and global investment vehicles, including ETFs, Unit Trusts, Personal Share Portfolios, and structures such as Guernsey and Mauritius PCCs.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all strategies meet FSCA rules, CISCA, JSE listing requirements, and other financial regulations.

• Tax & Structure Guidance: Offer insights into tax efficiencies (SITUS, CGT, income tax) and optimal structuring for performance and compliance.

• Market Analysis: Stay ahead of trends and competitors to inform recommendations and identify new opportunities.

• Data Modelling: Design non-routine investment models and contribute to robust risk modelling and scenario planning.

• Team Contribution: Collaborate with consultants and product development teams to enhance client value offerings.

🎓 What We’re Looking For

• Education: A relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., CFA, CFP, Master’s in Finance or similar).

• Experience: 5–8 years of relevant experience in investment consulting or financial services.

• Skills:

  • Deep understanding of SA financial markets and global investing

  • Exceptional data analysis and modelling skills

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities

  • High proficiency in investment tools and analytics software

  • Proven capability in internal and external client relationship management
