About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated IT Auditor to join our Internal Audit team. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring Discovery’s IT governance and risk management strategies are robust and effective across our various businesses—including Discovery Life, Health, Invest, Insure, and Vitality.
You will work with multiple stakeholders and assurance providers to ensure audit excellence, manage IT risks, and support improvement of IT controls and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities

Respond to and assist with management queries.

Build and maintain relationships with Discovery entities and assurance providers.

Facilitate the maintenance and validation of IT risk profiles.

Provide meaningful insights to improve IT risk management and controls.
Technical & Operational Audit Activities
-
Perform and supervise IT audits in line with internal audit methodology.
-
Conduct IT General Controls, Application Control Reviews, and Infrastructure assessments.

Manage testing and documentation using audit software.
-
Ensure risk-based audit planning and test execution.
-
Lead and guide junior auditors and oversee quality control.

Prepare reports, planning memorandums, RACMs, and audit finalisation documentation.

Monitor and track audit progress, budget, and deadlines.
Follow-up and Reporting
-
Monitor and report on the progress of outstanding audit issues.

Coordinate follow-up engagements and prepare committee reports.
Development and Continuous Improvement
-
Participate in ongoing learning, industry research, and internal training.

Provide mentorship and development for the audit team.

Contribute to audit methodology enhancements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Auditing, or equivalent.

Professional certification: CIA / CISA / CISM / CRISC / CGIT (one or more required).

Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in IT audit.

Practical exposure to:
-
IT General Controls and Application Controls.
-
Internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
-
Corporate and IT Governance practices.

Cyber and information security.
-
Technical infrastructure assessments.
-
CAATs and data analytics (advantageous).

Progress toward or completion of Honours degree.

Previous experience in the financial services sector.
