Role Overview
The IT Auditor plays a strategic role in securing the organisation’s digital ecosystem. This includes conducting IT risk assessments, performing audits across data governance, security, software development, IT controls, cloud maturity and operational resilience. The auditor ensures DigiOutsource’s systems are protected from threats, compliant with policies, and reliable for business decision-making.
The role contributes directly to strengthening governance, improving IT processes, and supporting strategic decision-making through evidence-based audit insights. It is suited to an experienced IT audit professional with strong technology knowledge, analytical capability, and a deep understanding of risk.
Key Responsibilities
IT Risk Assessments

Perform independent IT risk assessments to identify high-risk areas requiring assurance.

Analyse risks relating to applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity and data governance.
IT Audit Execution
-
Conduct audits guided by the risk-based audit plan.
-
Execute pre- and post-implementation reviews of systems and enhancements.
-
Review IT policies and procedures, including change management, business continuity, disaster recovery, and information security.

Evaluate application controls and IT general controls and test compliance.
-
Conduct systems development audits for adherence to development standards.
-
Assess systems and applications for efficiency, reliability, security and effectiveness.
-
Perform IT security audits, including vulnerability reviews and mitigation verification.

Provide project assurance services to support organisational efficiency.
-
Conduct cloud governance and maturity reviews to assess adherence to best practice.
Reporting and Advisory
-
Draft balanced, objective and evidence-supported audit reports.
-
Provide recommendations on IT risk management and process improvements.

Advise stakeholders on application, infrastructure and security control requirements.
General Requirements

Support additional tasks as required to achieve business objectives.

Participate in cross-functional initiatives and contribute to audit planning.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Education
-
Tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Information Security, IT Auditing, or a related field.
Experience
-
Minimum 4 years of IT auditing experience, preferably in the eCommerce industry.

Strong knowledge of IT audit standards, methodologies and frameworks.

Solid understanding of IT risk and control principles across multiple domains.

Experience with cybersecurity practices and identifying vulnerabilities.
