๐ Job Overview
Discovery is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Auditor to join its Group Internal Audit function. This role is critical in supporting Discoveryโs commitment to sound governance, effective risk management, and robust IT control environments across its diverse financial and health-related businesses.
The successful candidate will perform IT audits across applications, infrastructure, cyber security, and project environments, while working closely with management, assurance providers, and external auditors. This role offers exposure to complex systems, advanced technologies, and enterprise-wide audit engagements within a fast-paced, purpose-driven organisation.
๐ง Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong working relationships with Discovery business units and assurance providers

Assist with management queries and provide meaningful insights on IT risk exposure
-
Facilitate and maintain IT risk profiles, including inherent and residual risk assessments

Challenge risk information received from the business and recommend control improvements
Audit Execution & Technical Responsibilities
-
Perform IT audits in line with approved Internal Audit methodology
-
Define audit scope, objectives, and approach for assigned engagements
-
Review and document system descriptions, walkthroughs, and process flows
-
Prepare and review risk and control matrices (RACMs) and audit test procedures
-
Perform and review audit testing using approved audit software and CAATs where applicable
-
Identify control weaknesses and assess the effectiveness of IT general and application controls
-
Evaluate cyber security, information security, infrastructure, and project controls
Reporting, Quality & Oversight

Provide regular progress updates to Audit Management
-
Ensure audit engagements are delivered within agreed budgets and timelines

Review working papers prepared by IT Auditors and provide corrective feedback

Prepare and contribute to audit reports and finalisation documentation

Monitor the implementation of management action plans and perform follow-ups

Ensure audit files meet quality and governance standards
Development & Continuous Improvement

Provide coaching, training, and supervision to junior audit team members

Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodology and practices

Stay current with IT audit, governance, and industry developments
-
Participate in learning initiatives, certifications, and professional development activities
๐ Qualifications & Requirements
Education
-
B Degree or equivalent qualification with majors in IT, Information Systems, Computer Auditing, or Auditing
Professional Certifications (Required)
-
CIA, CISA, CISM, CRISC, or CGIT (at least one mandatory)
Experience
-
Minimum 2 yearsโ experience in IT auditing

Proven experience performing IT General Control and Application Control reviews

Exposure to financial services environments is advantageous
