UD Trucks is offering an incredible opportunity for unemployed South African youth to gain professional experience in the IT field. As an IT End User Support Intern, you’ll work alongside industry professionals to provide front-line technical assistance, support critical IT applications, and drive continuous improvements within a global commercial vehicle company.

This role is part of the YES (Youth Employment Service) initiative and is exclusive to unemployed youth registered on the YES4Youth platform. Ideal for recent graduates with an IT-related qualification, this 12-month internship will set you up for success in the digital world.

🎯 Key Responsibilities:

✅ User Support & Incident Resolution:

  • Provide technical assistance and support on system-related issues

  • Log, track, and resolve incidents aligned with SLA commitments

  • Improve user adoption by explaining application features and functions

✅ System Optimization & Maintenance:

  • Suggest application enhancements for better performance

  • Conduct root cause analyses and propose corrective measures

  • Participate in system upgrades and post-implementation support

✅ Business & Technical Insight:

  • Understand business processes linked to IT applications

  • Support multiple departments through technical guidance

  • Apply DevOps and Lean methodologies to streamline IT support

✅ Innovation & Automation:

  • Identify repetitive tasks suitable for automation

  • Explore advanced tools like RPA and Chatbots

  • Collaborate with IT communities and innovation groups

🎓 Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

📘 Educational Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or a related field

💬 Core Skills:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written in English)

  • Analytical problem-solving mindset

  • Knowledge of DevOps and Lean working principles

📝 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen

  • Must be currently unemployed

  • Must be registered on the YES4Youth platform

  • Must not have participated in a previous YES programme
