Job Overview
The Grow-IT Internship Programme (specialising in Artificial Intelligence) is designed to develop future-ready IT professionals within SARB’s Business Solutions and Technology Department (BSTD). This programme focuses on building both technical and behavioural competencies aligned with emerging technologies such as AI and data engineering.
Interns will be immersed in a practical IT environment where they will gain hands-on experience, contribute to innovative projects, and support strategic technology initiatives within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in IT projects within the Business Solutions and Technology Department
- Support AI and data engineering initiatives through research and development
- Assist in analysing data and developing technology-driven solutions
- Collaborate with teams to improve systems, processes, and digital capabilities
- Engage in continuous learning to build technical and professional competencies
- Contribute innovative ideas aligned with emerging technology trends
Qualifications
Education
- National Diploma in IT (NQF 6)
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or IT (with AI/data exposure)
- OR BTech in Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Data Science (NQF 7)
Experience
- No prior work experience required
- Exposure to AI, data engineering, or related academic projects will be advantageous
Skills
- Basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and data engineering concepts
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Microsoft Azure (advantageous)
- Proficiency or exposure to Python programming
- Understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a plus
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Curiosity, innovation, and self-motivation
- Ability to work independently and within a team
