About the Role
Remote Recruitment is hiring an experienced IT Support Specialist for a fully remote role with a UK-based company. In this position, you’ll provide technical support to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems and business continuity. This position offers the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home in South Africa, with flexible working hours from 8 AM to 4 PM UK time. As an Independent Contractor, you’ll be responsible for troubleshooting IT systems, assisting end-users, and managing a variety of IT infrastructures.

What Youβll Be Doing
As an IT Support Specialist, your main responsibilities will include:

Provide first-line and second-line IT support to end-users.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues quickly and efficiently.
βοΈ Infrastructure Management
β
Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
β
Ensure IT security compliance by implementing updates, patches, and security protocols.
π Security & Compliance
β
Ensure data security by enforcing security policies and best practices.
β
Assist with security updates, patches, and backup operations.
π Documentation & Process Improvement
β
Document technical solutions and procedures for future reference.
β
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize IT processes and enhance overall system efficiency.
π οΈ Onboarding/Offboarding
β
Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring all IT systems and accounts are set up correctly.
β
Provide remote support for all IT setups using helpdesk tools and ticketing systems.
What Weβre Looking For
We seek a professional with a strong technical background who excels in a remote work environment. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
π Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years of IT support experience in a professional environment.
β
Solid understanding of Windows and Mac OS systems, networking principles, and cloud-based applications.

Proficient in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, VPNs, and remote desktop solutions.
β
Experience with IT security best practices and troubleshooting.
