Job Overview

AECI is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to provide first-line support for non-Microsoft enterprise applications and operational technology systems. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of key business systems such as Syspro, SAP, and Cognos.

You will be responsible for incident resolution, service delivery coordination, system upgrades, and vendor engagement while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. This role suits a technically strong professional with solid ITIL knowledge and a proactive, service-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support for non-Microsoft enterprise systems (Syspro, SAP, Cognos)

• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs

• Monitor system availability, stability, and performance

• Plan, coordinate, and implement system patches, upgrades, and maintenance

• Follow established change control and ITIL processes

• Manage ticket queues and ensure SLA compliance

• Escalate complex issues and coordinate follow-ups with internal teams and vendors

• Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to the knowledge base

• Participate in problem management and root cause analysis initiatives

• Liaise with third-party vendors and manage service delivery expectations

• Communicate effectively during incidents, outages, and planned maintenance

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or a related field

• ITIL Foundation certification

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT systems or enterprise application support

• Essential experience supporting Syspro

• Exposure to SAP and/or Cognos will be advantageous

• Proven experience in system upgrades, patching, and application lifecycle management

• Experience compiling system reports and contributing to RCA investigations

Skills

• Enterprise application support (Syspro, SAP, Cognos)

• Support of Operational Technology (OT) devices (scanners, handheld terminals)

• Incident management, troubleshooting, and analytical skills

• Patch management and upgrade planning

• ITSM tools such as ServiceNow (or similar)

• Basic networking, databases, and system integration knowledge

• Strong understanding of ITIL (Incident, Problem, Change Management)

• Scripting or automation skills (advantageous)
