🎯 Purpose of the Role

The Junior Accountant: Fixed Assets is responsible for accurate recording and reporting of all fixed asset-related activities. You’ll provide essential financial services, support business decision-making, and ensure compliance with internal controls and governance frameworks. This role involves hands-on asset accounting and monthly financial close activities.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Process, classify, and capture asset-related costs, ensuring timely depreciation per policy.

• Review all asset capitalizations, retirements, and transfers in ServiceNow.

• Perform monthly depreciation runs, reconciliations, journal entries, and analytical reviews.

• Assist operations with ServiceNow queries related to fixed assets.

• Execute internal SOX controls and quarterly compliance testing.

• Handle fixed asset verifications and periodic inventory reconciliations.

• Process asset master data changes.

• Manage intercompany transactions and reconcile with signed-off D2 forms.

🎓 Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Matric (Grade 12) with 3+ years of fixed assets accounting experience.

• National Diploma or B-Degree in Finance (preferred).

• Background in projects and asset accounting is advantageous.
