Job Overview

The Junior Software Developer Intern will support the ICT unit in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of internal software applications. This role offers valuable exposure to real-world .NET development projects within a structured public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities

🧩 Design & Development

• Participate in the design, development, and optimisation of software applications using .NET technologies

• Contribute to system analysis and software architecture design

• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code aligned with best practices

🧪 Testing & Deployment

• Perform unit and integration testing

• Ensure accurate and timely completion of development tasks

🛠️ Maintenance & Support

• Assist with debugging, fixing, and enhancing existing applications

• Monitor technical performance of internal systems and resolve issues

🤝 Collaboration & Learning

• Attend and contribute to development and requirements meetings

• Continuously improve coding skills through mentorship and code reviews

• Collaborate with team members to improve software quality and productivity

📄 Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and update technical documentation

• Provide clear information to testers for effective system testing

• Identify gaps or additional requirements during development phases

Qualifications

🎓 Education

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent

• Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in:

  • Computer Science

  • Information Technology Systems

  • Electrical Engineering

• Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability

• Customer-centric mindset

• Excellent communication skills
