Old Mutual is a leading financial services group, committed to driving growth across Africa. We are looking for a Junior Consolidation Reporting Business Partner to join our IFRS Financial Reporting team.
💼 Role Overview
This role is responsible for business partnering in the OMLAC (SA) Group and reports to the Head of Consolidation while working closely with the Head of Statutory Reporting. The main functions include:
✔ Preparing and reviewing consolidation reports following IFRS, Group policies, and JSE requirements.
✔ Focusing on OMLAC (SA) consolidation and ensuring compliance.
✔ Analyzing and explaining financial and non-financial data to stakeholders.
✔ Managing internal and external reporting, including financial statements and regulatory filings.
💪 Key Responsibilities
📈 Financial Reporting
✔ Analyze & review financial performance of OMLAC (SA) segments.
✔ Prepare analytical reviews and detailed financial commentary.
✔ Identify and process consolidation journals.
✔ Assist in quarterly consolidations and inter-company eliminations.
✔ Support statutory reporting and disclosure management.
📜 Governance & Compliance
✔ Ensure adherence to IFRS, Companies Act, JSE Listing Rules, and Group policies.
✔ Implement process improvements in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
✔ Engage with auditors and provide accurate reporting proofs.
✔ Maintain compliance with financial controls and regulatory frameworks.
👨💼 Management & Business Partnering
✔ Build strong relationships with finance teams and key stakeholders.
✔ Work with external auditors, actuarial teams, tax specialists, and compliance officers.
✔ Lead projects related to consolidation improvements.
📚 Qualifications & Experience
✔ Qualified CA (SA) with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience.
✔ Solid knowledge of IFRS, JSE Listings Requirements, and insurance accounting (IFRS 17 exposure preferred).
✔ Experience in consolidations & financial reporting for a listed multinational.
✔ Strong understanding of legal & management consolidation structures.
✔ Experience in a multi-currency environment is a plus.
