Position: Junior Data Engineer – Business Intelligence Development Location: Hollard Life Solutions Business Unit
Overview: As a pivotal part of the Hollard Life Solutions Business Unit, the Junior Data Engineer will enhance data operations across all departments within Hollard. This role demands a proactive approach to manage data workflows efficiently, ensuring optimal performance across business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust data systems to streamline data acquisition, storage, and distribution aligned with business goals.
- Utilize the Microsoft SQL stack and cloud platforms to transform raw data into valuable business insights.
- Engage in the entire lifecycle of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, from conceptualizing data models to deploying comprehensive reports.
- Perform thorough gap analysis and assess the impacts of data engineering projects.
- Collaborate with senior developers for skill enhancement and adhere to Hollard’s documentation standards.
- Support ongoing projects by providing technical assistance and ensuring stakeholders have appropriate access to data resources.
- Design sustainable BI systems that integrate effectively across various business functions.
- Translate complex business and technical specifications into scalable data engineering strategies.
Role Dynamics:
- Work within a dynamic team environment to build and scale effective data engineering solutions.
- Balance technical proficiency with business understanding to deliver tailored data insights.
- Liaison with key stakeholders including analysts, management, and external data source providers to ensure alignment with business needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of two years’ experience on the Microsoft BI platform, with a strong recommendation for SQL Server expertise.
- Proficient in managing relational databases such as Oracle, Sybase, and SQL Server.
- Familiarity with dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and Azure cloud services is beneficial.
- Prior experience in the insurance sector is advantageous but not mandatory.

Educational Requirements:
