We’re on the lookout for a creative Junior Designer ready to bring fresh thinking and consistent design excellence to our growing portfolio.

🎯 Purpose of the Role

As a Junior Designer for Confined Labels, you’ll be responsible for the design and maintenance of private label packaging that aligns with Boxer’s Consumer Value Proposition (CVP) and brand identity. This is your chance to leave a visual legacy on-shelf and contribute to a nationally recognized brand.

📋 Minimum Requirements

✅ Advanced Higher Certificate or Diploma in Graphic Design (or related)
✅ 1–2 years’ experience in print design, preferably in FMCG or retail packaging
✅ Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign
✅ Experience using Apple Mac systems
✅ Valid driver’s license
✅ Strong eye for detail, even under deadline pressure
✅ Working knowledge of flexography and lithography
✅ Excellent organisational and communication skills
✅ Familiarity with Boxer’s brand, packaging compliance, and South African retail space
🟢 Bonus: Experience with 3D product rendering and packaging design tools

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Design compelling, brand-aligned packaging for confined label (private label) products

• Conduct and incorporate market research and competitor analysis into design decisions

• Ensure accuracy in artwork, colour specs, file formats, labelling, and print-ready outputs

• Collaborate with the New Product Development Team (NPDT) to develop brand-compliant designs

• Create concept visuals, packaging mock-ups, and 3D renders where necessary

• Manage multiple design briefs simultaneously with clear communication to stakeholders

• Stay informed on industry best practices and legal packaging regulations

• Maintain the artwork database for version control and historical reference

• Oversee WeTransfer briefing process with internal teams and suppliers
