About the Role

Alexander Forbes is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Product Development Analyst to support the team with ongoing projects and new product launches. This role is perfect for someone passionate about market research, product innovation, and ensuring strict adherence to governance processes in new product proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Market & Trend Analysis

• ✓ Competitor Research: Run continuous analyses on competitor performance, trends, and flows; maintain an updated information library.
• ✓ Investment Knowledge: Build and sustain a robust knowledge base of investment matters.
• ✓ Industry Updates: Stay informed on changes in the investment sector, including the green economy and regulatory shifts.
• ✓ Technical Research: Assist in preparing research papers and technical analysis on topical investment issues, including competitor insights.
• ✓ Market Insights: Help identify opportunities within existing target market segments and explore new product ideas, customer needs, and distribution channels.
• ✓ Content Development: Support the creation of marketing thought pieces, thematic research, copywriting, and design processes.

Product Development

• ✓ Project Support: Assist with deliverables across the product development pipeline, from design to re-engineering.
• ✓ Product Lifecycle: Coordinate the launch, closure, and modification of new and existing products/funds.
• ✓ Marketing Coordination: Contribute to the preparation of marketing and communication plans for new products, and support client presentations.
• ✓ Pricing Analysis: Aid in the preparation, testing, implementation, and communication of pricing structures.
• ✓ Profitability Reviews: Analyze and assess investment product profitability, including post-launch performance reviews.

Process Governance

• ✓ Policy Adherence: Assist in updating, publishing, and communicating policies and procedures.
• ✓ Governance Compliance: Ensure all processes and policies are strictly followed.
• ✓ Approval Processes: Support product owners in completing the correct approval templates and governance processes.

Self-Development

• ✓ Continuous Learning: Attend conferences and seminars, and provide feedback on events attended.
• ✓ Professional Growth: Strive to pass relevant professional qualifications.
• ✓ Time Management: Demonstrate successful self-management and delegation where applicable.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree: Finance or an investments-related field (Accounting, Financial Management, BCom, Actuarial Science, etc.).
• Experience: 1 – 3 years in Finance, with exposure to investment or product development environments.
