Job Overview
The Labeller Operator is responsible for the effective operation of labelling machinery within a manufacturing environment. The role ensures that products are correctly labelled, quality standards are maintained, safety procedures are followed, and production targets are met in line with Tiger Brands’ manufacturing and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate labelling machines efficiently and safely according to standard operating procedures
• Complete quality control documentation accurately and timeously
• Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and company safety policies
• Raise SROs where required and ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in line with 5S principles
• Ensure MECP compliance within the production area
• Communicate effectively with cookers, seamers, and other production team members
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment
Qualifications
Education
• Matric / Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science, or
• A minimum of 3 years relevant tertiary qualification
Experience
• Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or FMCG environment is advantageous
• Exposure to quality control, GMPs, and safety compliance preferred
Skills and Competencies
• Machine operation and basic fault identification
• Strong attention to detail and quality awareness
• Understanding of food safety and manufacturing standards
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow procedures and safety protocols
• Time management and reliability
