Now, Continental Tyre South Africa (Pty.) Ltd. is looking for a Labour Relations Officer to support the HR team with Industrial Relations (IR) functions and help drive a positive employee relations culture.
🧾 Key Responsibilities
As the Labour Relations Officer, you will:

Collaborate with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) on strategic labour relations issues.

Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with IR policies and procedures.
-
Strengthen working relationships between management and trade unions in the manufacturing environment.
-
Analyse and interpret collective bargaining agreements and ensure adherence.
-
Manage grievance procedures and coordinate resolutions for union-related disputes.
-
Assist with preparation and documentation for conciliations and arbitrations.
-
Conduct special IR investigations as required.
-
Maintain the IR database on PaySpace and ensure data integrity.
-
Act as a scribe in disciplinary hearings and standardize documentation processes.

Guide managers and HR staff on workplace rules and labour legislation compliance.
-
Support internal enquiries and provide legal/precedent advice to Presiding Officers.

Design and deliver IR-related training sessions and onboarding content.

Compile monthly IR reports using Power BI and analyse absenteeism data to ensure consistency in actions taken.

Identify problem areas through statistical reporting and recommend actionable improvements.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience

National Diploma in Labour Relations or Human Resources Management (with a major in Labour Law)

Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and collective bargaining frameworks
-
Experience in unionized environments is highly desirable

Proficiency in PaySpace, Power BI, and MS Office tools

Excellent communication, mediation, and report-writing skills
-
High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently
