Job Overview

Catalyst Hotel is seeking a Laundry Attendant to join the Housekeeping department.

The role involves cleaning, pressing, and folding guest laundry and hotel linen while ensuring that housekeeping operations maintain high standards of hygiene and presentation. The successful candidate will support the housekeeping team by managing linen supplies, maintaining laundry facilities, and ensuring that guest laundry services are delivered efficiently.

This position requires a reliable individual with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent guest service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, clean, press, and fold guest laundry and hotel linen

  • Return all guest laundry items according to established procedures

  • Issue clean linen supplies to room attendants

  • Monitor and maintain linen quality standards

  • Record and track soiled linen sent to laundry suppliers

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of laundry equipment and storage areas

  • Ensure that the linen storeroom and work areas remain neat and tidy

  • Report maintenance issues or equipment faults to management

  • Support housekeeping staff with additional cleaning duties when required

  • Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction

  • Control the issuing and appearance of staff uniforms

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)


Qualifications

Education

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or National Certificate

Experience

  • Previous experience in laundry services, housekeeping, or hospitality environments will be advantageous

  • Experience working in guest service or hotel operations is beneficial

Skills

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good interpersonal and teamwork abilities
