What You’ll Do

As a Lead Process Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design and optimization of hydrometallurgical circuits, including leaching, solvent extraction, precipitation, and related processes.

  • Prepare and approve essential technical deliverables such as mass balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.

  • Interpret metallurgical test work results and incorporate findings into process designs.

  • Utilize advanced simulation software like METSIM, Aspen, and LIMN to model processes and enhance designs.

  • Lead feasibility and engineering studies from scoping through detailed engineering phases.

  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers, fostering technical growth and professional development.

  • Collaborate closely with clients to present solutions, defend technical choices, and maintain strong partnerships.

  • Support procurement activities by preparing specifications and reviewing vendor submissions.

  • Participate actively in HAZOPs, design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability reviews.

  • Provide technical support during project construction, commissioning, and ramp-up phases.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory standards in hydrometallurgy and mineral processing.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive hydrometallurgical process engineering experience, with minimum 3 years in a senior or leadership role.

  • Proven expertise in hydrometallurgical flowsheet design, development, and optimization.

  • Strong command of hydrometallurgical processes and process simulation software (METSIM, Aspen, LIMN).

  • Excellent technical writing, analytical, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated mentoring and leadership capabilities.

  • Experience in EPCM or project-based work environments.

  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required.

Desirable Skills

  • Professional Engineer certification or equivalent.

  • Hands-on experience with commissioning and troubleshooting hydrometallurgical plants.

  • Knowledge of emerging battery metals technologies such as lithium hydroxide and cobalt sulfate processing.

  • Bilingual abilities (English plus another language) will be an advantage depending on project locations.
