We’re looking for a Lead Training Facilitator – a key player ready to shape and elevate training and development in our operations across multiple African countries.


🧭 Job Overview

As the Lead Training Facilitator at Unitrans, you will design, deliver, and oversee impactful training programmes that promote safety, compliance, and skill development among our drivers and operators. You will also lead and manage a team of Training Facilitators/Driver Trainers, ensuring best-in-class delivery across the division.

This role is perfect for a strategic and hands-on facilitator who thrives on building people’s capabilities and driving behavioural change.


📝 Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee training compliance by tracking and reporting expired certifications across the division

  • Implement and supervise both classroom-based and hands-on training schedules

  • Conduct monthly moderation of completed assessments and manage internal moderation documentation

  • Act as a subject matter expert during internal and client audits

  • Deliver Train-the-Trainer content, including SOPs, customer-specific modules, and performance-based training

  • Supervise and participate in remedial driver training post-incidents (DriveCam, MiX Telematics, coaching)

  • Focus on high-risk driver behaviour, conducting interventions to reduce accident risk

  • Mentor and coach Training Facilitators and assess their ongoing competencies

  • Monitor and review DriveCam data, develop toolbox talks, and recommend training initiatives to mitigate risk

  • Generate regular reports on training interventions (monthly to annually)

  • Design and roll out effective driver development programmes in partnership with the Group Training Manager and Divisional Head: Human Capital

  • Conduct periodic reinforcement training for divisional teams

  • Facilitate internal and legal compliance training, ensuring understanding and application through interactive methods

  • Support development of short and long-term divisional training plans

  • Conduct planned and unplanned job observations for safety and performance enhancement

  • Step in as a contingency support resource during operational crises

  • Lead and guide the training team across multiple countries


📚 Minimum Requirements

Education & Certifications:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential

  • NQF Level 6 in Human Resources or related field – Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field – Advantageous

  • Registered Facilitator, Assessor, and Moderator with TETA – Essential

  • Valid Code EC Driver’s License

Experience:

  • At least 3 years’ management and leadership experience in a training-focused role

  • Experience in Agriculture, Mining, or Transport and Logistics sectors

  • Proven success leading teams across multiple African countries – Advantageous

  • Background in implementing training systems and process improvements aligned to business goals

  • Experience with DriveCam and MiX Telematics

  • Ability to develop custom training content and Toolbox Talks

  • Proficiency in compiling training reports and audits
