🎓 Role Overview – Learner / Trainee Corporate Affairs
The Learner – Trainee Corporate Affairs role is designed to provide structured workplace exposure for a graduate or early-career professional seeking to build a career in corporate affairs, administration, governance, and strategic coordination.
The trainee will provide end-to-end administrative and coordination support to the Corporate Affairs function, supporting projects, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and governance activities. This role offers valuable exposure to strategic planning, transformation initiatives, executive reporting, and cross-functional collaboration within the MTN ecosystem.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities & Key Performance Areas
The successful trainee will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Affairs function through the following activities:
📊 Strategic & Project Support

Provide input during strategic and operational meetings when required

Support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and functional projects

Assist with the execution and alignment of departmental strategies

Prepare documentation for sign-off and tactical decision-making

Support risk mitigation activities and governance controls
🗂️ Administrative & Coordination Support

Coordinate and facilitate ad hoc meetings with internal and external stakeholders

Prepare, format, and type reports according to required standards

Compile status and progress reports for management review

Assist with planning, scheduling, and organisational tasks

Escalate issues that may impact timelines, costs, productivity, or resources
📑 Reporting, Research & Content Development

Conduct research and prepare content for executive presentations

Create, edit, and quality-check presentations aligned with MTN corporate communication standards

Assist with collation of performance metrics and reporting for senior management

Support documentation of services, training materials, and business presentations
🤝 Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Management

Interface with Operating Companies (OpCos) and internal teams on strategic initiatives

Assist with managing and curating knowledge bases and internal documentation

Support staff in accessing information and responding to frequently asked questions

Liaise with vendors and external partners to ensure timely information delivery

🎓 Minimum Requirements
📚 Education

Relevant 3- or 4-year Degree or Diploma (e.g. Corporate Communication, Business Administration, Public Relations, Management, or similar)
💼 Experience

0–2 years’ work experience (graduate or entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
