10 x Impala Platinum Refineries P1

Are you a student pursuing a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Chemical Engineering? Do you need workplace exposure to complete your qualification? Impala Platinum Refineries invites eligible students to apply for its P1 and P2 Learnership Programme 2026.

This 12-month programme provides students with the essential hands-on experience required for completing their qualification. Based at Impala Platinum Refineries in Springs, learners will gain invaluable industry knowledge in a real-world environment, while working alongside leading professionals in South Africa’s platinum sector.


🔍 Programme Details

Impala Platinum is offering a total of 10 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placements:

  • 3x P1 & P2 Learnerships – Analytical Chemistry

  • 7x P1 & P2 Learnerships – Chemical Engineering

These structured experiential training programmes are designed to align with university requirements and ensure students gain practical, workplace-based experience in their chosen field.


📘 Minimum Requirements

For Analytical Chemistry Learnerships:

  • Completion of all theoretical modules for a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (NQF Level 6)

  • Strong understanding of basic chemistry principles

  • Must be medically fit for work in BMR and/or PMR

For Chemical Engineering Learnerships:

  • Completion of all theoretical modules for a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering (NQF Level 6)

  • Sound knowledge of basic chemical engineering concepts

  • Must be medically fit for BMR and/or PMR


📄 Application Documents Required

  • An updated CV

  • Certified copy of your South African ID

  • Matric Certificate

  • Full academic transcript (statement of results)

  • Confirmation letter from your higher learning institution indicating that all theoretical modules are complete
