Job Overview

The Lecturer in Accounting Information Systems will contribute to teaching, research, supervision, and academic leadership within the Department of Accounting.

The role includes facilitating undergraduate and postgraduate learning, conducting scholarly research, supervising postgraduate students, engaging in curriculum development, and participating in community engagement initiatives. The successful candidate will support the department’s accreditation standards and contribute to maintaining academic excellence aligned with professional accounting bodies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Accounting Information Systems

  • Conduct research and publish in accredited journals

  • Supervise postgraduate students

  • Participate in curriculum development and assessment processes

  • Provide academic leadership and departmental administration

  • Engage in discipline-specific outreach and community engagement

  • Contribute to professional and strategic faculty initiatives


Qualifications

Education

Essential:

  • Registered Chartered Accountant (SA)

Advantageous:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Accounting Information Systems


Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum one year of relevant teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and/or

  • Experience in a professional CA training environment


Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills

  • Student-centred teaching approach

  • Planning and organisational ability

  • Computer literacy and e-learning capability

  • Proven ability to contribute as a senior member within a Faculty

  • Technical expertise in Accounting Information Systems
