Position Overview: Legal Counsel

Are you a legal professional looking to join a dynamic and globally recognized financial services provider? Apex Group is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our Cape Town office. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing legal team in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate client service agreements, NDAs, and corporate documentation.

• Advise operational teams and business leaders on legal aspects of fund servicing.

• Provide legal advice on data protection matters related to client/vendor contracts.

• Assist in the development and protection of intellectual property rights.

• Contribute to the integration of legal frameworks across global group projects.

• Maintain and update legal templates aligned with industry best practices.

• Offer day-to-day legal support across various group business lines.

Requirements:

• Qualification: Solicitor admitted in South Africa or a common law jurisdiction.

• Experience: 3 to 5 years’ legal experience within fund services or financial services (in-house or private practice). Exceptional candidates with less experience will also be considered.

• Skills:

  • Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive and client-focused mindset.

  • Comfortable working in a high-performing, fast-paced environment.
