Are you a recent graduate with a passion for law? The Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) is offering a 24-month Legal Services Internship at its Head Office in Midrand, Waterfall. Key Responsibilities
As a Legal Services Intern, you will be involved in:
⚖️ Legal Research and Analysis
- Assist in conducting research on legal issues, regulations, and statutes that impact the railway industry.
- Support the legal team in drafting legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and memoranda.
📑 Legal Documentation and Filing
- Help prepare, organize, and maintain legal documents related to the RSR’s operations.
- Assist in ensuring that the legal documents comply with legislation and regulations.
📘 Supporting Legal Projects and Cases
- Participate in ongoing legal projects and case preparations by gathering relevant information and assisting with document management.
- Help ensure all legal files are up-to-date and properly filed according to RSR’s guidelines.
👥 Collaborating with Legal Team and Stakeholders
- Support the legal team in its dealings with various stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and legal advisors.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to legal matters.
Programme Requirements
To be eligible for the Legal Services Internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
📜 Qualifications
- LLB Degree (Bachelor of Laws) or equivalent qualification.
- A Postgraduate Qualification in Law will be advantageous.
🇿🇦 Eligibility Criteria
- South African citizenship is a must.
- First-time internship applicants: You must not have participated in any internship programme at any public or private institution before.
- Required documents for application:
- A cover letter
- Certified copies of your Identity Document
- Certified copies of your qualifications
- A certified copy of your academic record reflecting a 65% average in your final year of study
- SAQA accreditation (if applicable for foreign qualifications)
