Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Local Sales Representative to identify, acquire, and manage new local clients for On the Dot’s distribution services in Johannesburg. The role focuses on proactive prospecting, lead generation, and building lasting relationships to expand our client base and increase company revenue.

Key Responsibilities
The Local Sales Representative will be responsible for securing new local clients and growing the company’s market presence. Core responsibilities include:
Prospecting and Lead Generation
Actively identify potential local businesses that require distribution services. Conduct cold outreach through calls, emails, and in-person visits to generate leads and schedule meetings. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects. Map and canvass assigned territories to ensure full market coverage and develop a comprehensive database of client requirements.
Business Development and Portfolio Growth
Assess client distribution needs and provide tailored service solutions. Develop customised proposals, conduct negotiations, and secure profitable contracts. Gather market intelligence on competitors and local business opportunities. Build long-term relationships with local decision-makers to strengthen client trust and company credibility.
Administrative and Reporting Duties
Maintain detailed records of prospecting activities, client meetings, and follow-ups. Track pipeline progress, report on weekly acquisition results, and analyse market coverage to identify growth opportunities. Ensure all client interactions comply with company policies and internal reporting standards.
Educational Requirements

Minimum: Matric certificate

Preferred: Sales or business-related qualification
Experience Requirements

3+ years of proven experience in B2B new business development or sales, ideally in logistics, distribution, or related services

Strong understanding of Johannesburg’s local business landscape and industries
