🎓 Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Locum College English and Life Orientation Teacher who is passionate about education and personal development. This short-term teaching opportunity requires an educator capable of delivering engaging, high-quality lessons while fostering a dynamic and supportive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will inspire students while upholding our strong academic ethos.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver captivating English and Life Orientation lessons.

• Create a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, learning, and positive behaviour.

• Maintain professional standards in attendance, conduct, and preparation.

• Evaluate and refine teaching practices through reflective planning.

• Provide extra academic support during two afternoons per week.

• Design and share quality learning resources.

• Respond to parent communications within 24 hours.

• Participate in school events and special occasions as required.

• Assess students via exams, assignments, and reports.

• Contribute to students’ academic, emotional, and social well-being.

• Complete any additional duties as assigned by the School Head or Line Manager.

✅ Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English or a relevant field.

• Professional teaching qualification with SACE registration.

• At least 5 years of experience teaching English Home Language in an IEB school.

• IEB marking and Matric English teaching experience preferred.

• Strong understanding of IEB curricula and programmes.

• Passion for education and student development.

• Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to model positive values and behaviour.
