Job Overview

ADvTECH is seeking a passionate and adaptable Locum Teacher for the Intersen Phase. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education, supporting student development, and maintaining a positive and engaging classroom environment.

This role requires an individual who can inspire learners, foster critical thinking, and contribute to a collaborative school culture while upholding the values and standards of the institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and future-focused lessons aligned with curriculum standards
• Support students in developing foundational knowledge and abstract thinking skills
• Conduct academic assessments and provide accurate reporting on student progress
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive learning environment
• Act as a brand ambassador for the school and uphold its values
• Maintain administrative records and ensure compliance with school procedures
• Promote health and safety within the classroom environment
• Build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community

Qualifications

Education

• Undergraduate degree (NQF Level 6)
• PGCE or Bachelor of Education (Intermediate, Intersen, or Senior Phase)

Experience

• 2–5 years of teaching experience
• Experience within a structured school environment preferred

Skills

• Strong classroom management and teaching skills
• Computer literacy and digital teaching capabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Planning, organisation, and time management abilities
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Additional Requirements

• SACE registration (mandatory)
• Valid police clearance
• First Aid certification
