π οΈ Position Purpose
As a Licensed Machine Operator, you will contribute to safe, efficient production within Sasol Mining operations. Your role involves operating specialised mining equipment, conducting inspections, reporting abnormalities, and ensuring optimal functionality to maintain production targets.
This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in precision, safety awareness, and performing under demanding underground mining conditions.
π Job Details & Responsibilities
π§° Daily Functional Outputs

π§ Pre-operational checks: Ensure machinery remains safe and operational by completing mandatory checklists.

π Machine operation: Demonstrate competence in operating at least one mining production machine such as:
-
Roof Bolter
-
Shuttle Car
-
Continuous Miner
-
Load Haul Dump
-
Tractor
-
-
π Task execution: Complete all assigned duties according to daily plans or direct instructions.
-
π¨ Abnormality detection: Identify unusual machine or environmental conditions and report them immediately.

π§Ή Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe working area and ensure equipment remains in good condition.

π Qualifications & Experience Required

π Grade 12 / N3 (or equivalent).

π Valid mining operating license for the applicable machine(s).

πͺͺ Competent B Certificate (required for Roof Bolters).

π§ͺ Gas Testing Certificate (5 gases).
-
πΌ Proven underground coal mining experience.

π©Ί Ability to pass pre-employment medical and security clearance.
