🧾 JOB OVERVIEW

AC Hotel by Marriott Cape Town Waterfront is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Handyman to support daily hotel operations. The role focuses on minor repairs, preventative maintenance, safety compliance, and ensuring facilities remain functional, safe, and guest-ready at all times.

📝 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform minor plumbing repairs including unclogging drains, fixing leaks, and repairing faucets

• Carry out basic maintenance such as changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and patching walls

• Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication

• Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and equipment faults

• Comply with all health, safety, and security procedures

• Maintain professional appearance and protect company assets

• Assist guests courteously and respond to service requests professionally

• Safely lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as required

• Use ladders, stairs, and tools safely while performing duties

• Perform additional reasonable maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors

🎓 QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High School Diploma or Grade 12 (or equivalent)

Experience

• No prior maintenance or handyman experience required

Skills

• Basic repair and maintenance ability

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks

• Strong attention to detail

• Good communication skills

• Ability to follow safety procedures

• Teamwork and customer service orientation
