JOB OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of maintenance and repair activities across Sigma facilities. This role ensures that buildings, equipment, and workspaces remain safe, functional, compliant, and well-presented.

The position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations and maintaining a high standard of operational readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical repairs
Conduct routine inspections and attend to maintenance requests timeously
Maintain lockers, flooring, lighting, water dispensers, and storage areas
Complete weekly maintenance reports, job cards, and check sheets
Identify faults, escalate risks, and assist with preventative maintenance
Liaise with suppliers and contractors when required
Conduct health, safety, and security compliance checks
Maintain clean, safe, and organised work areas
Support senior technicians with repairs and inspections

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Accredited qualification in Mechanical, Plumbing, or Electrical (Advantageous)

Experience

2–5 years’ experience in a maintenance or facilities role (Essential)

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of hand tools and mechanical/electrical concepts
Good communication skills and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and within a team
Willingness to work overtime when required
Strong attention to health and safety risks
