JOB OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of maintenance and repair activities across Sigma facilities. This role ensures that buildings, equipment, and workspaces remain safe, functional, compliant, and well-presented.

The position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations and maintaining a high standard of operational readiness.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical repairs

  • Conduct routine inspections and attend to maintenance requests timeously

  • Maintain lockers, flooring, lighting, water dispensers, and storage areas

  • Complete weekly maintenance reports, job cards, and check sheets

  • Identify faults, escalate risks, and assist with preventative maintenance

  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors when required

  • Conduct health, safety, and security compliance checks

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organised work areas

  • Support senior technicians with repairs and inspections


QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Accredited qualification in Mechanical, Plumbing, or Electrical (Advantageous)

Experience

  • 2–5 years’ experience in a maintenance or facilities role (Essential)

Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of hand tools and mechanical/electrical concepts

  • Good communication skills and strong work ethic

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Willingness to work overtime when required

  • Strong attention to health and safety risks
