Key Responsibilities

As a Management Accountant at Mr Price, your role will be central to driving financial decision-making across the organisation. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and ensure optimal financial planning and performance tracking.

Your duties will include:

• Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Set annual budgets for both head office and stores.

  • Monitor store performance and update financial forecasts monthly.

• Performance Analysis:

  • Prepare detailed financial analyses and management accounts.

  • Conduct IFRS 16 reconciliations and manage forex exposure forecasts.

• Reporting:

  • Compile period-end statutory packs and liaise with operations for financial reporting.

  • Analyse capex spend and maintain an accurate price matrix across the business.

• Operational Insights & Process Improvement:

  • Drive process efficiencies and contribute to financial optimization.

  • Understand feasibility studies for new store openings and contribute to strategic planning.

• Adhoc Financial Support:

  • Assist with various ad hoc financial projects and tasks as required by the business.

Qualifications & Experience

• CA(SA) – Newly qualified (Must be registered).

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

• Proven ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure.

• Experience in retail or commercial sectors is a plus.

• Exceptional communication skills (verbal & written).

• Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling is advantageous.
