About the Role
As the Manager: Analytics Engineering, you will lead the development and implementation of scalable data pipelines that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing robust data pipelines that integrate and streamline data processes for advanced analytics.
- Leading the development of feature stores to support AI/ML model development and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Managing data integration between different systems, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
- Fostering collaboration between the data science, business intelligence (BI), and analytics teams to achieve common goals.
- Ensuring compliance with data governance best practices, including data security, privacy, and quality standards.
- Driving innovation in analytics by leveraging the latest tools and technologies in data engineering.
- Mentoring and managing a team of data engineers, guiding them to deliver high-quality solutions and continuous improvements.
This role is crucial in building the infrastructure and systems that will support Capitec’s analytics-driven initiatives, empowering stakeholders with accurate and actionable insights.
Ideal Candidate Profile
✔ Experience:
- Over 5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
- At least 2 years as a manager or team lead within an analytical or data engineering team.
- Expertise in SQL and experience in delivering complex data analytics solutions.
- Experience managing senior and executive-level stakeholders and influencing business decision-making.
- Proficiency in data pipelining tools such as Apache Airflow and AWS Glue.
- Experience in data visualization using tools like PowerBI.
- Knowledge of big data frameworks such as Hadoop and Kafka, with hands-on experience using Github or Git.
✔ Ideal Skills:
- Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and cloud data engineering solutions would be a plus.
