JOB OVERVIEW

The Manager: Change & Transaction will provide specialist support and technical guidance across Treasury operations, including hedge accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory change. This role manages complex transactions, drives change initiatives, and ensures Treasury operations remain compliant, efficient, and aligned with business strategies.

The position is critical to maintaining robust hedge accounting solutions, supporting Treasury Finance, and advising on regulatory or technical changes affecting Treasury and markets operations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Hedge Accounting Management – 60%

  • Oversee Group Hedge Accounting solutions and ensure minimal economic impact post-implementation

  • Apply appropriate valuation techniques to measure hedged risk

  • Present hedge effectiveness results to senior management

  • Maintain and develop hedge accounting infrastructure in line with standards and legislation

  • Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and documentation

Technical Advice & Treasury Support – 20%

  • Provide expert accounting technical advice across all Treasury pillars

  • Support Group-wide hedge accounting policies and liaise with external auditors

  • Partner with Treasury teams on accounting, regulatory, and product/process changes

  • Assess capital applications and coordinate responses with Treasury Finance and regulatory teams

Impact of Technical Change – 10%

  • Monitor accounting and regulatory changes affecting Treasury operations

  • Communicate changes and assess impact on Treasury business models, systems, and processes

Treasury Change Initiatives – 10%

  • Ensure change initiatives align with business strategy and regulatory requirements

  • Assess impact of changes on hedge effectiveness or economic benefit of deals

  • Provide technical input to Treasury change initiatives and chair working groups as required

  • Support the Head of Change Delivery for Treasury


QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Relevant finance degree (Bachelor’s or Advanced Diploma in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies)

  • Professional qualifications such as CA, CFA, or FRM

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Treasury or markets technical role

  • Proven expertise in hedge accounting, derivative valuations, and treasury operations

Skills

  • Strong technical accounting and regulatory knowledge

  • Knowledge of derivative instruments and hedge accounting practices

  • Exceptional interpersonal, team-working, and communication skills

  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Client service driven and performance oriented

  • Strong presentation skills
