Key Responsibilities:

Lead the co-creation and implementation of the community affairs strategy aligned with Gold Fields’ social performance objectives.
Proactively identify and manage social risks within complex community and operational environments.
Build and maintain strategic stakeholder relationships to drive sustainable, inclusive community development.
Align community affairs programs with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Supplier Development initiatives to create shared value.
Use data-driven insights to support social investment and governance, and report on impact performance.
Collaborate with functional leads for external media relations and community communications.
Promote a culture of Zero Harm by ensuring full compliance with SHE standards and governance policies.
Drive team capability through coaching, succession planning, and strategic workforce development.

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s or Postgraduate Degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, Business Administration (PDBA), or related.
10+ years’ experience in sustainability, stakeholder relations, or corporate affairs, preferably within mining, natural resources, or heavy industry.
Strong legal understanding of CSR-related legislation and global sustainability frameworks.
Proven track record of developing and executing stakeholder engagement and mapping strategies.
Advanced expertise in governance, sustainability reporting, and compliance.
Medically fit with the ability to pass relevant health and heat tolerance screenings.

Strategic Communication: Skilled in negotiation, diplomacy, and advocacy with diverse community groups.
Operational Agility: Ability to navigate ambiguity and support business delivery in complex environments.
Technical Acumen: Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with data analytics and predictive performance indicators.
Lean Thinking: Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement in community projects.
