Are you passionate about Human Capital management and organisational development? The eThekwini Municipality is seeking a Manager (Human Capital) to take the lead in ensuring the effective and efficient management of the Municipality’s Human Capital services. This permanent position offers the opportunity to drive the HR strategy and contribute to the overall alignment with the Municipality’s goals in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Role Overview:

As the Manager (Human Capital), you will play a pivotal role in strategic workforce planning, talent management, and ensuring that the Human Capital services are aligned with the Municipality’s strategic goals. Your key responsibilities will include leading the implementation of HR processes, ensuring employee well-being, and managing performance-driven objectives across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

✔️ Strategic Alignment: Align the HR strategy with the Municipality’s overall IDP (Integrated Development Plan) and performance objectives.
✔️ Talent Management: Implement talent attraction, development, and retention strategies in collaboration with line management.
✔️ Workforce Planning: Develop and implement a strategic workforce plan that aligns with the organization’s needs and goals.
✔️ Performance Management: Translate broader organizational goals into individual and team performance targets.
✔️ Employee Well-being: Promote initiatives that support employees’ physical, mental, spiritual, and financial well-being.
✔️ Policy Implementation: Oversee the review and introduction of HR policies, procedures, and systems.
✔️ Project Management: Lead and manage key projects aimed at improving human capital management.
✔️ Reporting & Administration: Consolidate and report on HR key performance indicators to senior management.

Essential Requirements:

  • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Human Resources Management or a related qualification.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • 4 years relevant experience, including 2 years at a Senior Human Capital Practitioner level.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Degree (NQF Level 7) in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • 5 years relevant experience, with at least 3 years at a Senior Human Capital Practitioner level.
