🎓 JOB OVERVIEW

Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard is seeking a passionate and committed College Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy Teacher to teach Grades 7–12. The role focuses on delivering engaging, high-quality instruction while supporting student achievement and wellbeing. The successful candidate will contribute to a culture of academic excellence, uphold professional teaching standards, and actively participate in the broader school community within a premium private education environment.

🧩 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy lessons

• Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment

• Maintain high professional standards for behaviour, punctuality, and academic expectations

• Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on student work

• Set and mark examinations and continuous assessments

• Prepare detailed and meaningful report comments

• Provide extra lessons on two afternoons per week when required

• Develop and maintain high-quality teaching resources

• Communicate effectively with parents, responding within 24 hours

• Attend school events, meetings, and functions as required

• Carry out additional duties assigned by the School Head or line manager

🎓 QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• University degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field

Professional Registration

• Valid SACE registration

• Certified Teaching Status

• Legal right to work in South Africa

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching secondary or post-16 students

• Experience teaching Mathematics and/or Mathematical Literacy

Skills & Attributes

• Strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding

• Excellent planning, assessment, and classroom management skills

• Confidence in using ICT in teaching and learning

• Adaptable teaching style informed by reflection and feedback

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Passion for teaching and commitment to student development

Advantageous

• Experience with the IEB curriculum

• Previous experience in a high-performing international or private school
