Role Overview
The school seeks a highly skilled Mathematics Teacher capable of teaching Mathematics from Grade 8 to Grade 12, with the possibility of supporting Mathematical Literacy where required. The ideal candidate is an educator who is passionate about Mathematics instruction, learner engagement, and curriculum excellence.
Candidates must be confident teaching senior FET Mathematics and possess a strong understanding of NSC assessment standards. The role also extends beyond classroom teaching, requiring commitment to extra-mural activities, mentorship, and active participation in the school community.

Duties and Responsibilities
Academic Teaching

Deliver high-quality lessons for Mathematics Grades 8–12 aligned to CAPS and assessment standards.

Prepare detailed lesson plans, teaching resources, and differentiated activities.

Conduct continuous assessments, set formal tasks, and moderate work as required.

Provide academic support, revision programmes, and exam preparation sessions.

Maintain accurate records of learner performance, attendance, and interventions.
Learner Support & Development

Identify learners needing academic, behavioural, or emotional support and implement appropriate strategies.

Offer tutoring and academic enrichment programmes.

Track learner progression and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
Extra-Mural and School Life Participation

Participate fully in extra-mural activities, sporting events, academic clubs, or cultural programmes.

Serve as a Tutor within the Vertical Tutor System, providing mentorship and pastoral support.

Represent the school at events, open days, and relevant community engagements.
Professional Collaboration

Collaborate with the Mathematics Department to align teaching practices and enhance curriculum delivery.

Attend departmental and staff meetings, training workshops, and curriculum development sessions.

Engage in continuous professional development, including participation in subject forums, workshops, and marking training.
Administration and Compliance

Complete administrative tasks such as term plans, reports, assessments, and resource management.

Ensure compliance with school policies, academic regulations, and assessment protocols.

Maintain classroom organisation, discipline, and a safe learning environment.
Minimum Requirements

Experience teaching CAPS Mathematics in the FET phase (minimum five years preferred).

Proven experience teaching Grade 12 Mathematics (minimum three years preferred).

Experience as an NSC Marker is an advantage.

Strong competency in educational technology such as Google Suite, interactive platforms, and digital learning tools.

Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage a full teaching load.
