Key Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions and designs for bulk materials handling equipment. Your main responsibilities will include:
- 🛠️ Intellectual Property Development: Lead the research and development of mechanical applications for the agri industry, focusing on creating sellable equipment.
- 🔧 Feasibility & Analytical Studies: Conduct studies to investigate new technologies and conceptual designs, ensuring they meet project goals.
- 📐 Stress & Heat Transfer Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis to ensure designs meet the necessary strength, reliability, and performance criteria.
- 🖥️ Designing with Solidworks: Create detailed drawings and layouts in Solidworks, ensuring designs are both practical and cost-effective for manufacturing.
- 🔄 Ensuring Fit-for-Purpose Designs: Make sure that designs align with client requirements, are cost-efficient, and are easy to manufacture.
- ⚙️ Technical Evaluations & Tender Support: Evaluate technical tenders, provide recommendations for designs, costing, and technical descriptions.
- 🏗️ Project Management: Lead projects from concept design to implementation, including the development of turnkey solutions for clients.
- 💡 Troubleshooting: Assess operational practices on projects and plants, providing practical solutions to improve systems.
- 🧑🔧 Liaison with Suppliers & Consultants: Work with suppliers and third-party consultants to develop specialized engineering solutions and equipment.
- 🏗️ Commissioning & Site Supervision: Oversee project execution, including site visits, commissioning, and inspections, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- 📊 Documentation Management: Manage and maintain product development documents, intellectual property, and technical reports.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
Qualifications & Experience:
- 🎓 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design engineering, particularly in industrial or utilities sectors.
- 💼 Proven experience in designing mechanical systems for bulk materials handling or similar industries.
- 🖥️ Proficiency in Solidworks: Strong ability to create detailed drawings, layouts, and specifications using Solidworks.
- 🛠️ Experience in Stress Analysis & Heat Transfer: Ability to perform mechanical analysis to ensure optimal material strength and design.
- 📊 Project Management Experience: Experience managing turnkey projects, from concept design to commissioning.
- 🧑🔧 Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to creatively solve complex engineering challenges.
