ποΈ About the Role
The Mechanical & Electrical Resident Technical Officer plays a key role in ensuring that all mechanical and electrical work on the healthcare project is executed safely, correctly, and according to approved specifications. Working closely with the Resident Engineer, Senior Resident Engineer, and Consultant Team, this role ensures technical accuracy, quality control, and consistent oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
π§ Key Responsibilities

βοΈ Assist the Resident Engineer and Job Manager with coordination and resolution of technical and design issues
-
βοΈ Provide standing supervision when directed by the Resident Engineer or Consultant Team
-
βοΈ Conduct routine site checks in addition to inspection requests
-
βοΈ Identify and report unacceptable site conditions or workmanship
-
βοΈ Collaborate with the project team to determine corrective measures and maintain proper documentation
-
βοΈ Review construction drawings and highlight discrepancies between disciplines before installation starts
-
βοΈ Ensure all work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and standards
-
βοΈ Enforce safety requirements and promote a secure working environment
-
βοΈ Resolve site issues promptly to avoid delays and ensure project milestones are met
-
βοΈ Attend site meetings, inspections, tests, and commissioning activities
-
βοΈ Maintain accurate site logs, inspection records, and signed documentation
π Minimum Requirements
-
π Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution
-
πͺͺ Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES
-
π οΈ Minimum 8 yearsβ experience as an RTO on local projects
-
π₯ Experience supervising M&E installations for hospitals, healthcare facilities, institutions, or complex commercial developments (advantageous)

π Strong understanding of local codes, standards, and regulations
-
π¬ Ability to confidently address technical questions from consultants and contractors
