🧾 JOB OVERVIEW

The Mechanical Engineer will support clients by implementing, optimising, and sustaining effective asset management and maintenance systems.

The role involves working either on a dedicated client site or across multiple client environments, applying engineering insight, data analysis, and industry best practices to improve asset reliability and operational performance.


πŸ› οΈ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement asset management and maintenance business processes

  • Identify and implement improvements to maintenance and asset care systems using structured problem-solving methodologies

  • Present asset management training and develop training materials and course content

  • Identify, analyse, and report on KPIs and business process performance

  • Deliver ad-hoc client support, training, and asset management projects

  • Build strong working relationships with artisans, foremen, and engineers

  • Prepare, chair, and document on-site client meetings

  • Analyse system data and trends to drive continuous improvement

  • Provide high-level system support and act as a liaison between clients and system support teams


πŸŽ“ QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Relevant tertiary qualification: BEng, BScEng, BTech, or National Diploma (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering)

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year practical experience in facilities management

  • At least 1 year experience in facilities maintenance planning, asset care, or reliability engineering

  • Exposure to project management methodologies

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations (OHSA, ISO standards)

  • Strong breakdown analysis and root cause investigation skills

  • Contractor and maintenance project management capability

  • Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and visualisation

  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
