Are you a go-getter with strong media sales experience and a passion for digital advertising? We’re hiring a Media Sales Executive to help grow the commercial footprint of our city-focused media platforms: Joburg.co.za, Pretoria.co.za, and future Velocity CMS rollouts. You’ll lead sales efforts by building relationships with local businesses, media agencies, and brands, selling innovative advertising solutions and digital campaigns.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Acquisition

Pitch, negotiate, and close deals with:

Local businesses (restaurants, venues, lifestyle brands)

PR/media agencies and national brands
-
Tourism and municipal marketing teams
-

Sell a diverse range of ad formats:
-
Sponsored articles, display banners, homepage takeovers
-
Social media campaigns (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
-
Newsletter sponsorships, featured listings, and event promotions
-
Pipeline Management
-
Build and manage your own sales pipeline using HubSpot CRM
-
Follow up proactively, maintain strong client relationships
-
Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly revenue targets
Campaign Execution & Support

Collaborate with editorial, social, and design teams
-
Assist in media kits, rate cards, pitch decks, and campaign reporting
-
Offer upsell opportunities and data-driven recommendations
On-the-Ground Networking

Host in-person client meetings, coffee catchups, and sales visits
-
Stay informed on local trends to strengthen sales pitches

Minimum Qualifications
-
3–5+ years of experience in media sales, advertising, or partnership development
-
Strong closing skills with a history of exceeding commercial targets

Familiarity with Joburg or Pretoria’s local business and lifestyle scene
-
Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
-
Comfortable with remote work and in-person sales visits

HubSpot CRM, Canva, Google Workspace

Strong verbal and written communication

Confidence, resilience, and negotiation skills

Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms
