Are you a go-getter with strong media sales experience and a passion for digital advertising? We’re hiring a Media Sales Executive to help grow the commercial footprint of our city-focused media platforms: Joburg.co.za, Pretoria.co.za, and future Velocity CMS rollouts. You’ll lead sales efforts by building relationships with local businesses, media agencies, and brands, selling innovative advertising solutions and digital campaigns.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

Sales & Client Acquisition

  • Pitch, negotiate, and close deals with:

    • Local businesses (restaurants, venues, lifestyle brands)

    • PR/media agencies and national brands

    • Tourism and municipal marketing teams

  • Sell a diverse range of ad formats:

    • Sponsored articles, display banners, homepage takeovers

    • Social media campaigns (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)

    • Newsletter sponsorships, featured listings, and event promotions

Pipeline Management

  • Build and manage your own sales pipeline using HubSpot CRM

  • Follow up proactively, maintain strong client relationships

  • Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly revenue targets

Campaign Execution & Support

  • Collaborate with editorial, social, and design teams

  • Assist in media kits, rate cards, pitch decks, and campaign reporting

  • Offer upsell opportunities and data-driven recommendations

On-the-Ground Networking

  • Host in-person client meetings, coffee catchups, and sales visits

  • Stay informed on local trends to strengthen sales pitches

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in media sales, advertising, or partnership development

  • Strong closing skills with a history of exceeding commercial targets

  • Familiarity with Joburg or Pretoria’s local business and lifestyle scene

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport

  • Comfortable with remote work and in-person sales visits

Preferred Tools & Skills

  • HubSpot CRM, Canva, Google Workspace

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Confidence, resilience, and negotiation skills

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms
