Job Overview

The Merchandising Graduate role is designed to develop future merchandising professionals through hands-on exposure to large-scale e-commerce operations. This 12-month graduate programme rotates across key Takealot Group businesses, providing practical experience in merchandising strategy, data analysis, promotions, and cross-functional collaboration. Graduates will gain both technical and soft skills required to succeed in a fast-paced digital retail environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing merchandising strategies to maximise sales and profitability

  • Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer behaviour to support assortment and placement decisions

  • Support promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives in collaboration with the marketing team

  • Prepare reports and presentations on product performance and merchandising effectiveness

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and operations

  • Support ad hoc projects and initiatives within the merchandising team


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience

  • Graduate-level role; prior internship or academic exposure to retail, marketing, or e-commerce is advantageous

Skills

  • Strong written communication with the ability to write clearly and persuasively

  • Confident presentation and idea-pitching skills

  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
