Pāmu, New Zealand’s premier farming enterprise, is seeking a Methane Facility Coordinator to support the daily operations of our methane and feed intake research barn near Taupō. This role is ideal for someone practical, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to climate-conscious agricultural research.

About the Role

This part-time role (24 hours per week) is hands-on and diverse, offering a unique opportunity to be involved in groundbreaking research into reducing livestock emissions. Working closely with the Methane Facility Manager, your duties will include:

• Operating feeding and monitoring technology systems.

• Supporting and documenting research projects.

• Recording daily data and performing equipment checks.

• Adhering to health, safety, and animal welfare protocols.

• Representing Pāmu to stakeholders and visitors.

• Assisting in general farming operations on nearby properties.

This role requires on-site work three days a week and offers flexibility and professional growth in a fast-developing field of sustainable agriculture.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants from farming, technology, or scientific backgrounds—or those simply keen to learn and contribute to a dynamic research environment.

Must-Have Skills:

• Practical mindset with attention to detail

• Good computer literacy (especially Excel and data entry)

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Full, clean New Zealand driver’s license

Preferred (But Not Essential):

• Familiarity with livestock data systems

• Tractor/feeding equipment experience

• Understanding of animal breeding or agri-research

• Qualification in agriculture or related discipline
