🎯 Role Overview

The Music Educator will play a key role in shaping the school’s music programme, focusing on both individual student development and group performance. The successful candidate will be an accomplished accompanist, skilled teacher, and enthusiastic contributor to school functions and cultural life.

📝 Key Responsibilities

• Accompany individual music students up to Grade 8 level

• Accompany and rehearse with the school choir

• Teach subject music in accordance with the CAPS curriculum and school standards

• Arrange and accompany music at school functions and events

• Assist with music administration and perform reasonable duties as assigned by the HOD

✅ Minimum Requirements

• Academic: BMus degree or higher

• Experience: At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience

• Registration: Valid SACE registration

• Language: Fluent in English

• Skills:

  • Proficient accompanist (essential)

  • Organ playing ability (advantageous)

  • Music arrangement skills (advantageous)

  • Experience teaching Grade 12 (preferred)

  • Deep knowledge of CAPS and other curricula

  • Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills

  • Basic computer literacy

  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends
