Programme Overview
The Nedbank YES Programme forms part of the national Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative, a business-led partnership with government aimed at reducing youth unemployment. The programme provides young people with valuable workplace exposure, skills development, and real-world work experience, significantly improving their employability after completion.
This programme is not a learnership, internship, or apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities / Exposure Areas
Participants will gain:

Practical workplace experience in a professional banking environment

Exposure to daily business operations across Nedbank divisions

Development of workplace readiness, communication, and professional skills

Hands-on experience that enhances future employment prospects
Work placements may involve:

Administrative and operational support

Qualifications
Education
Applicants must have one of the following:

Matric (Grade 12), OR

Post-matric qualification:

NQF Level 5 (Higher Certificate)

NQF Level 6 (Diploma)

NQF Level 7 (Advanced Diploma or Bachelorβs Degree)

Experience

No prior work experience required

Must not have participated in a YES Programme before
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:

Be 18β29 years old as at 1 May 2026
(Born between 2 May 1997 and 1 May 2008) -
Be unemployed

Be South African-born African, Coloured or Indian (as per BBBEE Act)

Be willing and able to travel to the assigned workplace
