JOB PURPOSE

The NIMART Professional Nurse will implement and manage the Adolescent and Young People’s Program (AYP), ensuring comprehensive HIV care integration, including:

  • Women’s Health

  • Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH)

  • HIV Testing Services (HTS)

  • STI & TB Screening

  • Facilitating referrals to ensure holistic care


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide preventative and curative health care services to AYP populations.

  • Conduct clinical assessments, examinations, and HIV/TB/STI screenings.

  • Make nursing diagnoses according to policies, protocols, and guidelines.

  • Prescribe and administer medications in line with NDoH policies.

  • Implement integrated PHC programs and maintain comprehensive patient records.

  • Facilitate referrals and linkage to care for HIV-positive clients, trauma, GBV, and PVC cases.

  • Support “lost to follow-up” HIV-positive clients to re-engage with care.

  • Maintain medical supplies, equipment, and drug management per GPP standards.

  • Oversee quality assurance of HTS, clinical, and dispensing standards.

  • Supervise Health and Wellness Counselors (HWC) during quality control activities.

  • Collect, manage, and analyze health data to improve program effectiveness.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma/Degree in Nursing (General, Community, Midwifery, or Psychiatry)

  • NIMART certification

  • Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) certificate

  • Dispensing certificate and licence

  • Minimum 2 years community nursing experience with AGYW/AYP and/or key populations

  • Knowledge of HIV, TB, SRH, STI prevention, and NDoH screening guidelines

  • Understanding challenges faced by AGYW/YWKP

  • MS Office proficiency

  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required

  • Criminal clearance
