Occupational Health Nurse at MHR – Apply Now!

MHR is urgently seeking a Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner to join a well-established industrial company in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng. This long-term contract role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment with a focus on occupational health and safety.

As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will be responsible for conducting medical surveillance, fitness evaluations, and ensuring adherence to Occupational Health standards. This is an ideal role for professionals who are passionate about workplace health and safety and want to make a significant impact on the wellbeing of employees.

Key Responsibilities:
✅ Perform medical surveillance and physical examinations.
✅ Conduct fitness declarations against medical standards.
✅ Administer ad-hoc tests including hearing, vision, and spirometry.
✅ Auditing and performing risk-based occupational health inspections in a steel plant.
✅ Manage the implementation of a risk-based Occupational Health plan.
✅ Provide emergency care and manage disability and incapacity cases.
✅ Communicate with plant personnel and coordinate health interventions.
✅ Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Occupational Health standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
🎓 Education & Certification:

• Registered Nurse with SANC.

• Valid dispensing licence and indemnity insurance.

• Spirometry and Audiometry qualifications are required.

• Vision testing qualification (an advantage).

• Post-graduate Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing (advantageous).

• At least 3 years of work experience as an Occupational Health Practitioner.

🚗 Other Requirements:

• Must live within 30 minutes’ drive from the site.

• Valid driving licence and access to reliable transport.

• Ability to work under pressure and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• ISO/OHSAS certification and audit experience are advantageous.
