Internship Overview

The Office of the CEO Internship provides exposure to executive administration, strategic project support, risk management, compliance, and transformation initiatives. The intern will work closely with the Office of the CEO, supporting high-level coordination, reporting, and administrative functions within a professional public-sector environment.

This internship is ideal for graduates pursuing careers in public administration, governance, executive support, compliance, or business management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing and monitoring special projects initiated by the Office of the CEO

  • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and project update documentation

  • Assist with identifying and assessing organisational risks

  • Monitor and report on risk management activities

  • Support compliance audits, reviews, and related documentation

  • Prepare compliance reports and supporting records

  • Assist with transformation initiatives and track project progress and impact

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure efficient departmental operations

  • Coordinate communication and interaction between the department, management, staff, and external stakeholders

  • Schedule meetings and appointments on behalf of the department

  • Receive clients, stakeholders, and guests professionally

  • Collate departmental meeting minutes and track follow-ups

  • Ensure departmental adherence to organisational deadlines

  • Answer telephone calls and respond to enquiries professionally

  • Process travel-related documentation for the department

  • Maintain accurate departmental records and filing systems

  • Uphold confidentiality and professional standards at all times

  • Receive, send, and track correspondence and official documents

  • Screen visits to the department and manage access appropriately

  • Assist with meeting agenda preparation and distribution

  • Communicate schedule changes timeously to all stakeholders

  • Follow up on meeting outcomes, including resolutions, actions, and deliverables

  • Ensure proper document management and version control within the department


Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification (minimum NQF Level 4)

  • National Diploma or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 6) in:

    • Public Management

    • Public Administration

    • Business Management

    • Business Administration

    • Or a related field

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong administrative and organisational capabilities

  • Excellent attention to detail and document management skills

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information

  • Strong coordination and time management skills

  • Ability to engage with senior management and external stakeholders

  • Proficiency in office administration systems and tools

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines
