JOB OVERVIEW
The Operational Clerk ensures that stock is readily available, accurate, and of high quality for customer purchase. This role is essential for smooth operations, accurate stock management, and supporting overall business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure stock availability on the sales floor and in storage
-
Verify incoming stock against purchase orders, invoices, and transfer documents
-
Conduct regular stock counts and spot checks
-
Check barcodes on deliveries and report irregularities
-
Perform daily floor walks to monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment
-
Assist with marking, packing, and sorting stock for easy tracking
-
Participate in perpetual stock takes and inventory audits
-
Ensure timely submission of invoices to Admin
-
Log discrepancies in stock records daily
-
Maintain filing, documentation, and orderly stock records
-
Comply with Health & Safety standards and maintain work area cleanliness

Perform delegated tasks to support efficient operations
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
-
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
-
Candidates with NQF Level 3 Stock Management qualification (minimum 54 credits) may also be considered
Experience
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in stock management or retail operations
-
Proven experience in a stock-related function
Skills & Competencies

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively

Numeracy and attention to detail

Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email, Internet)

Team player with a proactive approach

Ability to follow SOPs and maintain operational discipline
